Easy Air Fryer Flounder (No Breading!)

My air fryer flounder skips the breading and leans on garlic lemon butter instead, so the thin fillets stay light and flaky. It comes together with 6 ingredients plus salt and pepper, and it's on the table in about 15 minutes. I cook the fillets on a piece of foil so they don't stick or tear, then finish them with a little Parmesan and fresh parsley.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 4-6 ounce flounder filets skinless
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Pat the fish dry with paper towels and place on a piece of aluminum foil cut and molded to fit the inside of the air fryer.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Place some aluminum foil (if using) in the air fryer basket, add the fillets in a single layer, then drizzle on the seasoning mixture.
  • Air fry at 350°F for 8-10 mins, until the fish reaches 145°F.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at a low temperature of 320°F so the fillets don't dry out or turn rubbery.
